MLB ticket info. for travel basball weekend

Hi everyone,

DH is a huge Red Sox fan, and we traveled for a "baseball" weekend from Boston to Seattle in July to see the Sox play the Mariners. My hubby loved it, and I wanted to set up a similar weekend for a Christmas gift.

The Sox are playing teams like NYY, the Diamondbacks, and San Diego on the road this spring/summer. The Sox home tickets go on sale this Sat. at 9, but I can't find any info. for these other three teams' single game ticket sales. Anyone know when they go on sale? Thanks :)

This is the best sight for info. Many teams tickets will not be on sale yet.
It varies greatly by team.

Most teams have way you can register for email promotions and info - and then you get emailed when team's tickets go on sale.

Simply do a Google search with the name of any major league team and you'll get information of ordering tickets for its games.

Most teams are offering Holiday "Pax" (4 or so games) at this time (like the Red Sox) or some less popular single game tickets (definitely not for the Red Sox)

Most teams will put their single game tickets on sale after January...

Yes, I buy out of town tickets by googling the team's MLB website. I always go out of town to see my team for at least 2 games, and usually get the tickets in February. You may only have trouble with the NYY tickets- those you may have to find out the 1st day they go on sale and be in the "line" so to speak.

I have gotten out of town nearly everywhere but SF much later than March or April as well. Some I could get right up to the weeks before.

HEY, do you know that I think you just got J.D.Drew?

JJ5 - don't get Red Sox fans started on JD Drew. Nobody in this city gets that deal - we could have kept Johnny Damon for less. The eupohria of 2004 has finally worn off and we are right back where we were - miserable!

If you want Yankees/Red Soc tickets you will have to buy them the day they do on sale. I would go to the Yankees web site - and if the day isn;t listed in advance sign up for the newsletter.

Any time after the first day you'll be stuck paying scalpers prices - which you don;t want to do.

(By the way the Yankees have increased thir premium tickets to $400 per seat for this year - figuring since people will pay that to scalpers why not directly to the team. Note: this is not all box seats - which stay at about $100 - but only the premium seats behind home plate.)

Well, bennnie, I did not know that. But don't feel bad. The White Sox are trying to get Aaron Rowand BACK!

You also might try ebay for tickets, closer to the time you want to travel. I have gotten Yankees tickets on ebay several times without a problem for tickets to a game we really wanted to see.

Check the www.yankees.com website for info on tickets and when they go on sale.

BTW, go SOX.

Thanks everyone for all your suggestions...I will check them out!

I haven't seen or heard anything about the schedule for 2007 yet.

gail Dec 6th, 2006 11:36 PM

Note that not all Red Sox tickets go on sale this Sat - only 4 game packs for pre-selected games and single game tickets for a few games in April and May - the 4-packs do not include summer games, nor will any July tickets be available this Saturday - summer tickets generally go on sale sometime in Jan/Feb. for Red Sox home games anyway.

So if you are looking for July, you can spend your Saturday doing something else (all info above is on Red Sox website under tickets section).

I believe MLB has a say in when individual teams can sell tickets - I know from your post you are looking for raod games, but other temas are likely to have same info and restrictions.

Last year I tried to get Red Sox-Yankees tickets for game in NY and was on wedbsite at moment they went on sale - no luck. Hope your luck is better than mine.

You can always get tickets at stubhub.com. Just a question of how much you're willing to pay.

Does anyone know how much you'll pay for bleacher seats if your lucky enough to get yankee red sox tickets?

milemarker0 Dec 14th, 2006 07:48 AM

bleacher seats are $23...they do have Upper Bleacher seats for $12, but there are only a couple hundred per game...they do that so they can say they offer cheap tickets....but they are almost impossible to get.
