MLB schedule 2008

We are planning a trip to New York City in May 2008 and want to take in a game at Yankee Stadium. I cannot find a schedule for 2008. I want to be sure they are playing at home and want book airline tickets accordingly. Of course, I am trying to FF miles, so the sooner I know dates of home games, the sooner I can try and get FF tickets.

Anyone have any idea as to when 2008 schedule is made public?

Thanks..

Certainly not until after the World Series - end of October. I seem to remember schedule being released sometime around Thanksgiving.

I've never seen a Yankees schedule before January - and even then it says subject to change.

The schedule will be released in sections beginning in early February. It's not finalized until then, and the times of games are not known usually until early March.

It's a bad process, but MLB does not produce their own schedule. It's handled by volunteers.

OK, thanks for the insight. Will grab the FF tickets while I can get them now!
Hopefully they will be playing at home sometime during out 12 day stay.I figure with that much time, they should be there a few days at least.

wait, Red Sox tickets always go on sale in December, how can the Yankee schedule not come out until February??

In any case, road trips of longer than 10 days are extremely rare, so you almost certainly get at least one home game during a 12 day stay, and probably more.

Agree with china cat - Red Sox have a pre-Christmas early ticket sale event every year in December. If there schedule is out, everyones is. And in December, although only selected games are on sale, entire schedule is available to salivate over.

Well if the Yankees aren't in town the Mets will be.

Thanks again to all. We are looking specifically to go to Yankee Stadium as we both grew up in NY and are devoted fans and want to have one last game at the old stadium before the Yankees move to new one and the old one gets torn down.

MLB generally post their schedules between Thanksgiving and Christmas...this way people can give tickets as Christmas presents. The times are not announced still late winter. You could look at the 2007 schedule to see if the Yankees were gone for more than 12 days to get an idea how often it occurs...if at all.

Also, I did the Yankee Stadium tour which was GREAT. It was during March and we got to go in the dugout and locker room. It was outstanding!! Check the Yankee web site for more details.
