mission bay ,san diego
Going to San Diego in November. Is it warm enough to swim in the ocean at that time. Any condos around Mission bay for reasonable prices.

I'm not sure where you are from, but water off California coast is generally not very warm, except in the summer. The bay is a little warmer, but they have sewage spills all the time so it is often not safe to swim in.

Thanks John
Any suggestions as to the best area to stay in around the San Diego area? We are interested in seeing the cities older historic area and zoo.
Thanks

I live in San Diego. The general answer to your question is NO. The water will be far too cold for swimming in either the ocean or the bay. Now the exceptions. It all depends on what is cold for you. The water temps will typically be in the mid 60's for the ocean and possibly slightly warmer in the bay. The water temps rarely go above 72 during the warmest time. However I have seen people swimming in the ocean at all times of the year.

You haven't mentioned cost so I will ignore that as far as where to stay. I recommend staying in downtown San Diego. There is lots to see and do all within walking distance. The Embassy Suites in downtown ( by Seaport Village ) is an excellent choice.

I was in San Diego last week and stayed at Paradise Point Resort. Found it to be comfortable and close to zoo
