Mandalay is much better. the rooms are more spacious and better even though Mirage just redecorated. I was there last week and Mirage pool was very crowded. If you burn easily- rent a cabana as they have special service, pop, water, fruit and can always have shade and they had the spritzers going. They also have these at Mirage, but a much smaller pool area. Mirage is nice, MB is much nicer, but you get what you pay for! If you want a cabana. I woulkd reserve before you go!

The cabanas at Mandalay Bay sound great! Could anyone tell me how much they cost to rent per day? I'm going to be staying there next month and I'm working on my budget!

I think the cabans are 60 bucks a day, if you can get one. They go really fast.

The cabanas at MB are $150 per day

That's more than the room!

I guess the tubes are a bargain by that standard...

I do still think that the rooms at
the Rio were average. What I meant was that there was nothing very impressive about them. While I do like the resort as a whole, and I'm not saying that I did not like my room, because I did; I;m
just saying that nothing stood out about the room. Yes, the square footage was a little larger than mirage,
but not awesome or anything. There was a bed, a couch and a T.V., but there
was nothing extra special. (at rio) But needless to say, it was a nice room. I did not mean to imply that it was not nice. And yes, I'd stay at the Rio again. All I mean is that I still have a more favorable impression of the Mirage room that we had.
We had stayed in the new Rio tower and the decor was sort of bland, actually.
Later on we found out the the older tower had the nicer decorated rooms.
But I did like the fact that they had a coffee maker in the room (which I understand they don't have anymore)
The Rio had the best standard rooms in Las Vegas.....in 1994!!!!

Time has passed Rio by.
Its rooms are now very middle of the road.
Nothing wrong with them, but the furniture is cheap and dated looking, the bathrooms are cheap looking compared to most places built in the past 3 years.
I like the casino, but the rooms are nothing special....just slightly larger than average.
