Miracle or Magnificent Mile - Same thing?
Ok, will someone please tell me -- are those two names referring to the same mile? And if so, which is the proper, or accepted name?

Thanks.

I've seen it posted in Chicago as the Magnificent Mile.

We call a stretch of Wilshire Blvd "Miracle Mile" here in L.A. That's probably why I'm always confused. In fact, don't take my word for it until you hear from someone else! :)

Depends on what you're referring to.

Miracle is/was:
**a historic area in Los Angeles
**a stretch of the North Platte River known for outstanding trout fishing
**a retail area in Stockton, California
**a 1989 movie with Anthony Edwards.

Magnificent Mile is an area of North Michigan Avenue in Chicago

Isn't there also a Miracle Mile on the north shore of Long Island in NY (I think it's Manhassat)?

The miracle mile is a stretch of roadway - 25A- on the north shore of LI - Manhasset, with a very upscale shopping center called the Americana. Hermes, Gucci, Vuitton. Lauren, etc etc.

The main shopping street in Coral Gables FL is also called Miracle Mile.
