Minneapolis dining

I am need of advise for a great dining experience within walking distance of the Marquette Hotel on Nicollet Mall. thanks

We had the best time at Manny's Steak House. It's in the Hyatt on Nicollet Mall. They have a huge menu and great steaks. Be warned that the steaks are big and the prime rib could be eaten by three.
The deserts were fantastic and the waters and everyone there make sure you have the best time possible.

I have been to Manny's and would say that it's OK. But, if you want the real deal, go to Murray's (steak) on South 6th, behind the Marriott. It's not on the Mall, but is in reasonable walking distance from the Marquette (and you can take the Skyway). They have been in the same location since 1946 and the place is practically a Twin Cities institution. I've been to Morton's, Ruth's Chris, Capital Grille, Manny's, and I'd rank Murray's above all of them.

Thanks for the suggestions. Are they both, Manny's and Murray's classified as fine dining? These 2 sound great.

If Vincent is still open, I would suggest you try it--fine dining, interesting menu.

It is still open:

One more thought: D'Amico Cucina, not to be confused with the takeout places D'Amico and Sons. Also fine dining, but it may be a bit far from Nicollet Mall, I can't recall the distance.
www.damico.com, click on Venues and D'Amico Cucina.

Manny's and Murray's are both definitely fine dining. I would classify both as "high-end" steakhouses in the same tier as Mortons.

I second Vincent...I believe it is right across from the Marquette Hotel. Knock you dead French-but-have-no-fear food, great service...on the spot but not obtrusive. Charming.

I had scallops...best I've ever had...cooked perfectly. And a desert sampler...all wonderful.

thanks, we should have time to try several suggestions.

Try The Chambers Kitchen at the Chambers Hotel. A Jean-Georges restaurant. Quite the experience and also great modern art to view.
