Milwaukee Zoo motels

Hi,

Can anyone help me choose a hotel/motel near the Milwaukee Zoo?

Has anyone used Priceline to book a motel in this area?

Thanks,
Gale

I would recommend Brookfield. There are several options and price ranges. I have never accessed Priceline for Milwaukee but you may want to take a look at what's available in Brookfield, then check on biddingfortravel.com to see what hotels might possibly be options in this area. There is a link below of the hotels in Brookfield. Personally, I enjoy the Country Inn.
If you stay in Brookfield, go to Kopps for custard!!

If you use Priceline, there are five zones in the Milwaukee area. The Brookfield/New Berlin zone goes quite a bit South of the Zoo. The NW zone starts very near the Zoo, but goes quite a bit North.

Personally, I'd select downtown, where there are lots of restaurants and other things to do. DT is only about 10 minutes from the Zoo.

There's a brand new Crowne Plaza (opened within the last couple of months) just a few blocks from the zoo.

Brookfield locations are good, too. Country Inn, Courtyard by Marriott, Doubletree, a few others.

I would, however, second Abram's recommendation of staying downtown. Much more to do, and the zoo's not far away.

I'm sorry I can't help with Priceline...I've never tried it, though I'm working up the courage to do so sometime soon!

Enjoy your trip!

There are several hotels very close to the zoo. The new Crowne Plaza (corner of Mayfair Rd & Watertown Plank Rd) is the only nice one though. Otherwise your options are Days Inn, Super 8, and Sleepy Hollow Motel. Anything in Brookfield off Bluemound Rd is a straight shot to the zoo (it's about 5-7 miles east on the same rd). I agree though that downtown would be more fun. You have lots of choices down there - Hilton has a small indoor waterpark (not great for bigger kids though) - assuming you are taking kids to the zoo.
