Millenium on Broadway

Hi! My friend and I will in New York 1st part of March. I have been checking room rates, I found rate of $179 fot the Millenium. Is this a good price? Has anyone stayed there? Any other suggestions? I want to stay between $100-$200. I need to be at the Javits convention for a show, so something near there. We will be there for 4 nights without my kids, I want to have fun, any suggestions for 2 early 30 year old women?

That is a great rate for NYC. I haven't stayed at that particular hotel, but have walked by it a dozen times. You'll be fine there and very centrally located. Make sure you see several shows. I recommend Chicago, Cabaret and Rent...all very good. When I go I usually do the sightseeing during the day, a nice dinner and then a show. A morning show is fun, too. I've seen several celebraties while in the GMA audience not to mention the fun of family and friends seeing you on television...if only just once! Fifth Avenue is fun to see, but don't expect to do any "real" shopping there. It will probably be to cold to enjoy the seaport area, but if you bundle up, it is a fun afternoon and you'll get to see the Statue of Liberty...always a must at least once. There are hundreds of great restaurants, I suggest you buy a NYC restaurant book and research some of interest to you, as many require advance reservations. Take advantage of every moment there....it is a wonderful city. Enjoy!

The Mellenium Broadway (not actually on Broadway, but in the theater district) is a large hotel, and people I know who've styed there liked it. Shouldn't be a problem etting to Javits.

There really isn't a decent major hotel that's any closer to Javits. The Marriott Marquis is about the same distance--about 1/2 to 3/4 of a mile from the convention center. You've gotten a good price. Take it.

Hi Anne:
Be sure to get Metrocards while you are here. They are good for bus to bus or bus to subway rides. MTA website www.mta.nyc.ny.us for information. Stop at the NYC Visitors Center in Times Square at Broadway and 46 St. You can get bus and subway maps and Metrocards. The M42 bus (make sure the destination sign says Javits Center and not the Circle Line)stops right outside the Javits Center. Don't forget a ride on the Staten Island Ferry (it's free). Don't get off in Staten island just stay on for the round trip.
Take in some shows have some great food and have a great time. Welcome to NYC.

Thanks AC! I still haven't decided on a hotel room. If anyone has any other suggestions I would greatly appreciate it. I can't wait to be in New York!

I have stayed at the Millenium Broadway several times - my friend Gary works there. Try to get a room in "the towers" - complimentary snacks, cocktails and breakfast - great location - very clean! - Highly recommend seeing "Chicago" if you can get tickets. Off Broadway show "Tony and Tinas wedding" is fun. "Ragtime" & "Titanic", terrible! Lunch at Tavern-on-the-Green! Fun city!
