Mild-ish rafting near Breckenridge CO
Last minute idea to go rafting in a few days (we arrive in Breckenridge today! (8-16) Any recommendations for a mild to moderate trip, possibly 1/3 day? Thanks!

there will be a bunch of brochures available at the visitor center. I don't know of any outfitters real close to Breck. Brown's canyon has a number of outfitters, and has both float and more challenging trips. We use Independent Whitewater there. We did do a trip from Glenwood Springs and it was more of a float trip, for the most part.

Thanks Bitter! Yess I guess it would be called a float trip! Ha! We dont mind a bit of a drive to get to a beautiful place. We're driving to Sand Dunes NP tomorrow and RMNP Monday, so definitely have driving in our forecast!

There is no rafting in the immediate area of Breckenridge. Water has been running quite high this year so doubt if any float trips through Brown canyon. That will be all white water. You could catch a float trip out of Idaho Springs on the far west side of Denver. And there are float trips on the Colorado out of Glenwood Springs. But the visitor info center in Breckenridge will point you in the correct direction.

I looked at some closer by but we booked a Scenic Canyon Half Day trip in Glenwood Canyon for Monday! Defiance Rafting. We liked the idea of being in a canyon and maybe will hit the hot springs after. Thanks for your input!

Good! It's a little slow at times, but the scenery is pretty. Take sunscreen and maybe a hat.

We loved it! It was perfect for an intro trip and mild enough I didn't have to worry about my phone/camera getting too wet, yet still some little rapids so it wasn't totally boring! Our guide said her favorite is Brown's Canyon but their mildest trip is Class III
