migrainer in Paris

I am in the unfortunate minority who can neither drink alcohol nor coffee because of headaches. This puts a damper on dinner and tends to rattle waiters when you ask for a decaffeinated morning drink. Anyone with experiences to share?

Well, the good news is that they don't use MSG or a lot of preservatives in their food that also cause migraines.
I doubt a waiter in Paris will be rattled by a request for decaf...
Skip chocolate too..but if you suffer from migraines, you already know what you can and cannot have.
You will still have a wonderful time and can eat to your hearts content..Bon voyage~

You might want to post this on the Europe board for answers more specific to Paris. (Unless you're talking about Paris, TX?)

Stay clear of cheap Chinese restaurants. My wife always thought that my mother and I were exaggerating the MSG issue because she never had an MSG headache until she got one while eating in a Chinese restaurant in Paris. From then on she was as sensitive as the rest of us.
