Midwest Bed & Breakfast suggestions?

We're two to three couples considering meeting & catching up at a nice bed & breakfast, perhaps in a smaller laid-back community. We just want to visit, have some good meals & perhaps have one or two relaxing outings (small shops, open-air markets, museums, boat ride, etc.) We're considering the Dakotas, MN, perhaps Wisconsin or northern Iowa. Preferably in Summer or Fall (before Winter driving). Any suggestions?

Decorah, Iowa is the Nordic capital of Iowa due to the fact it was settled by Norwegians. Sights include Victorian architecture, Nordi Dunning’s Springs, Ice Cave State Preserve, historic downtown, Malanaphy Springs, a natural spring cascading along the river’s edge, Porter House Museum, Steyer Opera House, Vesterheim--the National Norwegian-American Museum and Heritage Center, Luther College and the nearby World’s Smallest Church. There is the 11-mile Trout Run Trail which encircles the city and crosses trout streams five times. Located in Northeast Iowa near the Minnesota border.

Northfield, Minn is the quintessential college town (with Carleton College and St. Olaf College) and has a lively historic downtown lined restaurants, coffeehouses, art galleries and boutiques shops. Other sights include the Carleton Japanese Garden, Cowling Arboretum (with many trails), Cannon River Wilderness Area and more. Minneapolis is only 30 minutes north.

Yes, the Door Peninsula is a good option as well. There is the town of Ephraim which was first settled in the mid-19th century by Norwegian Moravians and has 30 historical sites in the village and guided and self-guided tours. Eagle Harbor has kayaking, paddle-boarding and fishing, Nearby Peninsula State Park has some great trails for hiking.
