Midway Airport Chicago

I'm flying in on Weds and am slightly disabled. I am concerned about the distance I may have to walk while wheeling my carry-on baggage. I am traveiling with another woman so she won't be schlepping for me. Do I need to request an electric cart to pick us up at the gate and ferry us to baggage and car rental?
Thanks in advance-

Most people don't want or need a rental car downtown - Parking is over $30 a night via a hotel valet. You may want to look into the alternatives.

Thank you for the links but they don't answer my specific question. I'm not in a wheelchair, I have trouble with my knee and leg. It would be helpful to know if it's a long walk from the planes to baggage and the car rental areas. The car rental is for our driving trip to Michigan.
Thank you.

Looking at online maps or satellite images and measuring them, the farthest gates can be over 1/3 mile from the main terminal building, which is across S. Cicero Ave from the gates.

It's been about two years since I flew into Midway, and I recall it was a bit of a walk. I would make request a cart.

Actually, the links patg posted were very helpful. There's a link for information that gives you the phone number for customer service. Call that phone number and ask your questions.
