Midtown manhatten B&B's
 

Does anyone know of any B&B's in midtown? Lower central park area or anywhere down to the theatre district would be great. Please, no places over $250/nt. (I know that may exclude everything but dumpsters... haha)

The few B&Bs in Manhattan are typically in residential areas - not midtown business districts.

You might search below for something.

But - when are you planning on coming and how many of you are there? That will affect prices.

Ivy Terrace is the only one I can think of in the area you describe but I wonder why a b & b? With hotel prices coming down due to the economy, hotels are actually becoming a better deal in many cases than the b & b's which don't usually offer daily maid service (or breakfast for that matter). There's a special on http://hotels.travelzoo.com/new-york-hotels/544505 for the Affinia Gardens which is on the edge of midtown and the upper east side but not far from the park.

First it is spelled Manhattan.

New York is not a B & B culture, although there been more and more in the past 5,7 years. It has a hotel culture, thus there will be mnay chocies for your budget, location, and personality.

I read about a B&B called Stay the Night, E. 93 Street and the Inn on West 23 Street. Also read about a B&B in Park Slope Brooklyn -- a short train ride into Manhattan -- but can't remember the name. Google and try tripadvisor.com.

I also prefer to stay at B&Bs when I travel, although Manhattan B&Bs are generally unhosted and so a little different than a 'typical' B&B. There is the 1871 House on East 62nd Street. A few of their rooms are under $250/night depending on when you want to stay.

Well the Affinia Gardens special is now gone. 1871house.com is in the same neighborhood but more expensive. You haven't come back to say why a b & b, but there are plenty of smaller hotels with some charm if you're trying to avoid a big chain hotel and there are also a lot of suite hotels with kitchens if that was your other thought. I think you'll be surprised at how hotel prices have come down.

As for why a B&B.... just trying to cover all the bases as far as accom. goes. We went to NYC last year for the first time, and stayed at the Rockefeller Center Hotel. It was a fantastic location, but when I looked it up the other day it was almost $400! B&B's are a little harder to find, so I thought I'd try this way to see if anyone had a hidden gem.

Thanks for the suggestions on hotels. The affinia manhattan would have been perfect, but is booked solid at the special rate for the days we're going to be there. I'll continue looking up the others though.
Just a note, the actual hotel websites have lately been posting better rates than found on expedia and travelocity! First time i've ever seen that!
Priceline, Orbitz, etc.... those are more last minute hotels arent they? Not sure I want to take my chances with that, but maybe I should consider it.
