Mid-Hudson Area Art

I am looking for scenic art towns along the Hudson River. I will be in NY in June. I know of a few, but I am also looking for small enclaves off the beaten track. Does anyone know of any besides Woodstock, Rhinebeck and Storm King? How are Kingston and Hudson? Is the mid Hudson area the best for this kind of exploration? Any tips would be much appreciated.

There are a number of art galleries in Hudson.

Cold Spring also has some nice diversions.

Check out Beacon as well. About 15min drive from Cold Spring

Large scale modern art museum at the Dia

and several art glass studios

Are you looking for visual arts or also performing arts.

There's the summer Shakespeare festival
hvshakespeare.org at Boscobel on the Hudson River in Garrison, just south of Cold Spring

and a performing arts center in Rhinebeck

Bard college may also have some art - not quite sure.

Woodstock is also noted for live music.

Definitely put Dia Beacon at the top of your list. It is a magnificent museum.
