Microbreweries in San Francisco

DH loves sampling the locally brewed brews. Any suggestions? Places with or without food is okay.

We will be staying in Union Sq or Convention Center area.

Thanks!

Check out Anchor Brewing Co. They are a SF institution.

Anchor Steam is one of the premier small brewery beers in the country. The tour is a fine one. Don't miss.

Magnolia Pub and Brewery for sure...great beer, great food. Elysian is also excellent (food and beer); I prefer the Capitol Hill location versus the Pioneer Square location.

You may also want to stop in for a beer at Toronado...total paradise for any beer lover.

I would NOT recommend San Francisco Brewing Company.

Elysian is excellent if you're going to SEATTLE. But you're not. So I wouldn't recommend a trip there.

;-)

Aye aye aye...

Another vote for Anchor Steam. The whole "steam" idea was new to me, and I had no idea why it was part of their name -- certainly not what I would have guessed.
In addition to the great tour, you end up in their tasting room where they do their best to MAKE you drink about 8 or 9 FULL glasses of various beers. You must sign up ahead, but don't miss this opportunity.

Pacific Coast Brewing is the best of the bunch. And definitely stop by Toronado.

I might be willing to take the 25 grand as a medium, but first I'd need to know what kind of costumes we're talking about.

All your brews are belong to us.
