what can you do with young kids such as beaches, restaurants and how much for a gallon of gas? How far away and long is orlando from miami

Orlando is about 3 to 3 1/2 hrs. from Miami taking the Turnpike.
Miami has a parrot jungle, monkey jungle, Metro Zoo, there's always some kind of festival at Coconut grove which is a nice area to walk around with quaint cafes and street vendors.

I filled up today for $2.19.

From downtown Miami, Orlando is about 220 miles via the turnpike. Tolls will run about $17.00.
