Miami Transportation Mid-Beach to South Beach

We are just beginning to plan a winter week in Miami. Thinking of booking a condo in Mid-Beach area (Castle Beach Club on Collins Ave) and are wondering about transportation without a car. Google says it is 1 1/2 hour walk to the deco area / south beach. Bike is about 20 min.

Anyone out there know about what a taxi would cost??
--What about Uber or Lyft average cost?
--Google seems to show that you have to transfer on the bus... but this seems odd. We are good with bus or --shuttle... any information on the easy way to do this?
thanks much for any help.

We have spent part of the last three winters in South Beach. I thought there was a public bus that ran the whole length of beach area. Surely you can goggle for South Beach and get the transportation map.

fmpden...thanks, and yes... but the map is difficult for me to interpret... seems like the bus goes 3/4 of the way, then it sort of makes a little spiral, which i take to mean that you transfer to get the rest of the way. was hoping for more clarity from personal experience.

And here we thought (or have been repeatedly lectured) that Uber was the answer to everything!!!
