Miami to Savannah and Charleston

We are planning to go in July in a van 4 married couples ( Our age around of 65/70 years) to know Savannah and Charleston. On a trip round a week. We would like to know where we can make stops and comfortable but not luxury hotels may recommend us.
We already were very grateful.

St Augustine would be a good stop or Ormond beach as long as it is not around the time of the July race at Daytona. Lots of reasonable priced hotels off the 95.

The distance from Miami to Savannah is 485 miles; add another 100 miles to Charleston. Are you willing to drive all the way to Savannah in one day?

The idea to go to St. Augustine for the first night is good. Spend the next day there and then continue to Savannah for 2 days.
Then go to Charleston. That will take your week. Do you have to return to Miami in that time?
Be sure to rent an adequate size van for 8 people and luggage.

I'm thinking that the journey will be very tiring to do it in a week and we will make only Miami to Savanhaa and leave Charleston for another opportunity. Possibly St. Augustine is our city to spend the night and we would choose from the return to Miami any other you can suggest as friendly people of the Forum you guys are. Thanks in advance.

You have a week. You can drive to St. Augustine in one day--it id only 5 hours drive. Spend the next day there. That is two days.
YOu could drive to Charleston, (another 5 hour drive) spend a ocouple of days and then do a day in Savannah on the return.
If your endurance for a trip is not enough to do this, I am concerned you'll never be able to go very far.
Add a day or so since I assume all are retired.

I also vote for a stop in St. Augustine, but this is a good resource: http://www.i95exitguide.com/

Don't be an ageist, OK? "Retired" doesn't mean incapable.
