Miami South Beach Hotels

Hello, traveling w/my father to South Beach in January. Wanted to ask for advice on hotels. Also any guidance on how to bid on priceline to get a good value? thanks for your help.

What's your budget? Hotels in South Beach vary from 60/night to thousands per night.

I stayed at the Royal Palm Resort last year which was real nice. It was July so it was the off-season so I got great rates. Then I added a night at the Winter Haven, which had a great rate but the hotel was under major renovations and the room was tiny.

My father and I just returned from a trip to Miami south beach. We stayed at a great hotel - the Park Central. About $120 per night but worth it. Perfect location on Ocean drive and a stone's throw from the beach. Plus, pool and lounge chairs outside. Great restaurant. Plus, free lounge chairs reserved just for guests right on the beach. You have to pay for umbrella ($12) for all day. But great. I definitely recommend this hotel. My father has taken my sisters to other places, but this place by far was the best. Clean cozy rooms too. Free internet. Fantastic! The Park Central. 620 Ocean Drive. In the Art Deco district.

January can be a little tough bidding on Priceline as many hotels are running at full occupancy and don't need to discount. Go to www.biddingfirtravel.com and view past winning bid history as well as learn the concept of free rebidding (In the Hotel FAQ and bid assistance form #9). Knowing how to rebid is the most important concept when using Priceline. You can apply for a bid assistance form there and someone will help you.
