The Tides in South Beach.

The Hilton Fountaibleau. Be sure to ask for a room with a view of the ocean.

The Tides is in the heart of South Beach and directly across from the nice park and the ocean/beach. Upscale rooms and restaurant.

The Fountainbleu is not walking distance to South Beach/Ocean Drive. It's not really close to a lot of things either. I just stayed at a convention in June and those who stayed at the Hilton vs the Loews were disappointed because they were too far from most the restaurants and shopping unless they had a car.

Try the Savoy, The Hotel or check out www.southbeach.com for hotels in the area.

Theresa

Another vote for The Tides.

the Tides is not on the beach!...try the new Loews or the Delano or the National next door...SSS

The Loews gets my vote. Although you wouldn't be disappointed with The Tides either.

Aaaah, the Delano! It is dreamy, start to finish. If you don't stay there, at least take a walk through the lobby then out onto the back patio one evening. It is worth the trip!

I will be at the Loews in 3 weeks - drop me a line in mid-October and I can tell you how it was. Looks great on the website, and the conference I'm attending always picks nice places :-)
