Miami Hotel
 

I trying to book a hotel for sept 5-7 on hotwire. Is oceanfront collons or ocean drive a better location. I'm looking for 3 1/2 star or above-best value for the money.

The hotels on Ocean Drive are smaller boutique hotels. The street separates these hotels from the beach itself. Collins has larger, more resorty hotels-Loews, Tides, National, Delano- and are directly on the ocean. Be careful, because there are also small hotels on Collins that are not on the ocean at all.

If you can afford it, the hotels I mentioned above, on Collins, are terrific.

ocean drive is directly across from the beach, it spans from 5th street to 15th street, its where Versace's house, News Cafe, Wet Willies, etc are. oceanfront collins is either refferring to a hotel on collins that is taller than the hotels on ocean drive so that you can see the ocean, or is north or south of the above streets mentioned. you'll probably get a better deal on collins ave but being that it's labor day weekend it's all going to be about the same anyway. I wouldn't stay anywhere north of 23rd street if you want to be close to the action. also ocean drive is usually closed to traffic labor day weekend from friday to monday night, and it's craziness! have fun!

I was wrong on my last post to you, for some reason I thought Labor Day weekend was the 5-7 and it's this weekend. sorry about the confusion. :)
