Miami, FL Layover-Enough Time?
Honeymoon Couple heading to Aruba. American Airlines changed their flight and they now have a 7+ hour layover in Miami, arriving at 10:20 a.m. Their flight from Miami to Aruba departs at 6:00 p.m. Would this allow them enough time to take a taxi to South Beach for lunch and stroll on the beach? I am thinking it is but don't want to steer them wrong. Any help, please!!!!

Yes, it does allow them enough time but a much better option would be getting a day room at the Miami Airport Hotel. They have a rooftop pool.
MIA is usually such a disaster that leaving it makes me nervous.
However, if they are insistant, yes, that is plenty of time to grab a cab and go to South Beach.
Nikki Beach would be fun because it is on the beach and they can have lunch on one of the day beds.
They could just bring their bathing suits in their carry on. It is quite fun.

Just checked on the hotel website http://www.miahotel.com/main.htm and it states that the rooftop pool and spa are closed until 2007 for renovations. You could always call.

Thanks for the tips. I had never heard of Nikki Beach and we stayed at The Colony Hotel in South Beach right before the Superbowl. It was crazy driving so guess we didn't venture far enough south. Any guesstimate of travel time between airport and the beach? (we flew in and out of West Palm, not Miami, so I have no clue).
