Miami Driving to FL Keys

Jump to last reply

For our Honeymoon we are flying into Miami, driving down to the FL Keys, and driving up to Orlando and doing the Disney thing...flying out of Orlando. This will be at the very end of May into June.

Where is a safe/reasonable place to stay in Miami for the first night? What areas should we avoid? Must sees? Or is there a place on the way to the Keys that would be nice?

We were thinking we could go the first night without a rental car in Miami because we heard parking can be expensive.

What are your favorite keys and places to stay there?

We keep getting recommendations about going to the Gulf side but we don't want to spend most of our days driving. :)

We are in our early-mid twenties. He is a filmmaker/editor and she is a nurse. We have Triple AAA, I think that gives you better rates on some things.

ANY help is greatly appreciated! Thank you!
