Miami Beach Hotels
I'm looking for a recommendation for a hotel in the South Beach area of Miami Beach for next January. I'd prefer to pay no more than $120 per night, but I know that on a winter's weekend there you don't normally get too much for your money. I'd be willing to go up to $150 per night. No special requirements, other than I don't want anything noisy - so therefore want to stay away from the heart of Ocean Drive, say 6th to 11th streets.

good luck, you better start saving your money because under $150.00 is not going to happen

I just did a quick search on Travelocity and there are many hotels with a posted rate under $150.00. The only one I've ever stayed at is Essex House. It's on Collins, nice location. I'd stay there again. It wasn't fancy, but it was decent. We're spending a night at the Blue Moon in December, looks nice, but have never been before.

Had pretty much the same question myself - several I am looking at include the Greenview, Essex House, and Wave hotels. Essex House has been mentioned above. Anyone have experiences with these places?
|
Most South Beach hotels that charge $150 in December are likely to charge $250 or more in January. It's called season! December rates have nothing to do with January rates.
|
The Kent Hotel - one of the Island Outpost chain, is a good value for the money - about $12- - $145 per night.
|
The rates that I saw were for January dates entered in. The rate for the Blue Moon is $20-30 higher in January.

Even chepaer than those places mentioned is the youth hotel (which has some regular hotel rooms) on Espaniola Way.
|
Whatever you do don't stay at the Ramada Miami Beach. What a filthy disgusting dive!

Try priceline - I got my wife a room at the Loews for $100 a night and she loved it.
