Miami Beach

My extended family of ten is looking for a beachfront hotel in Miami Beach area for 3 days over the New Year. Nothing too posh, yet upscale (if possible). Must have free breakfast available. Location on the strip is not that important, as long as the beach is plentiful and price is moderate. Any recommendation would be helpful. Thank you!

been there many times. it is difficult to find nice, clean, moderate prioced place on beach. If you can get the Loews for a price you are ok with it will give you everything you want and more. If not try one of the renovated art deco hotels. the surfcomber has been redone, is a Hampton affiliate, good location and price. both are a block or 2 above the strip.

we still cant find that perfect place to stay for a long February Presidents weekend in the middle keys. We'd like something nice, clean, not outrageously priced, on the sunset side, with view, a sand beach(realize this is difficult in keys.) We liked Islamorada but didnt have the beach and were on east side.

Try the Ocean Surf Hotel at www.oceansurf.com. It's north of south beach, it's inexpensive and has rave reviews, includes breakfast too.

Try Hotel Shelley in South Beach and Cheeca Lodge or Moorings in Islamorada. Both are on the Atlantic side and have manmade beaches.
