we just spent a week in south FL in June, we enjoyed an airboat trip in the everglades, drove to KeyWest and back in 2 days, stayed a night in Marathon, and really enjoyed the shopping at Aventura Mall in North Miami, also snorkeled off of Key Largo-there was so much to see and do

forgot to say that the best meal we had all week was in Marathon at a little blue and white restaurant called the Cracked Conch !

SOUTH BEACH, 100%. This is an art deco neighborhood which has been rehabbed and is really quite interesting architecturally. This is also where "the beautiful people" hang out. You must walk along Ocean Drive, shop on Lincoln Road, and, of course, go to the beach.

Re: food = Miami is famous for stone crabs and you may want to try Joe's Stone Crabs if you are up for a more pricey evening. Calle Ocho is the Cuban area where you can get terrific Cuban food.

Happy to help with more specific questions.

I would definitely recommend visiting the Bayside Marketplace, an awesome outdoor shopping mall. Also, if you like history, visit the Historical Museum of Southern Florida, in the Miami Cultural Center, and the Villa Vizcaya. Plus a ride between Miami Beach and downtown is very scenic. Have a great time!
