Message for any USAAF Veterans stationed at Glatton (near Conington) England during WW2
It was announced in our local newspaper that a new memorial for the 457th Bombardier Group, US Army Air Force is to be erected just off the Great North Road (A1) near Conington in time for the 60th anniversary D-Day landings celebrations.
If any veterans would like a photograph of the memorial, please let me know. I have a digital camera, which means I can forward the photo as an e-mail attachment. Either post here or e-mail me at [email protected] - and thanks for all your past efforts, freedom is worth fighting for. |
This won't be of service to me (my dad served at the 22nd General Hospital in Blandford during WWII, however--we're planning a trip back there), but I just want to say that your post is wonderful, Andrew, and your sentiments very much appreciated!
Another reason why I love the UK--the people! |
Thanks Mel - you're a star!

Trying again in case I posted without allowing for the time difference across the pond.

What a wonderful gesture, Andrewmac! :-)
|
I agree...what a nice gesture, Andrew. Topping again for the vets.
|
Andrew, may I pass you post along to an email list used by many flight enthusiasts?
