Mesquite

What is the nicest hotel in Mesquite and any recommendations on where to eat?

Which Mesquite?
Mesquite New Mexico, Nevada, or Texas?
What kind of budget and type of food?

If you're referring to Mesquite TX, you won't find anything but budget-ish chain hotels in Mesquite proper (Fairfield, Super 8 , Hampton, Best Western etc). The Courtyard by Marriott is probably the best.
A short drive west to Dallas would open up a wide variety of options for great hotels and dining if that's an option.

If you're talking about Mesquite, NV, the Virgin River Inn at the north end of town has always been my favorite.

As for eats, there is a little hole-in-the-wall Mexican cafe adjoining a Mexican market in the center of town that is superb (or was the last time I was there a few months ago). If you are coming from the north, follow Main as it makes the 90 degree right hand turn and down about 1/2 to 3/4 of a miles, there's a small shopping center on the left hand side with a Mexican restaurant on the near-end of the center. Turn into that parking lot, ignore the Mexican restaurant on the corner and go across the parking lot to the Carneceria/market on the other side of the lot. We've driven over 90 miles just to eat there a couple of times.

Thanx dwooddon...we love Mexican food. I thought when I posted this under "Nevada" that I didn't need to indicate the state butlive and learn. Hey cd....you need to get out more!

Hey, I am MORE then willing to get out more!!! I love "getting out" anywhere, anytime! But seriously st2327, anytime you post on the US board, it goes here, no seperate states, all together! I know it can be confusing, but that's the way it is!
