Mendocino - room with a view

As part of a San Francisco/Napa trip we are thinking of doing 2 nights in Mendocino. I'm looking for a room with best ocean view being the top priority. Luxury and comfort also important. Would prefer to avoid very small B&B? Any suggestions?

Thanks much

Harbor House in Elk, about 15 minutes south of Mendocino, loved it!

We stayed at Harbour House also and loved it. We did not have a reservation and were lucky to get a room which did not have a view. Gorgeous property.

We stayed in the room attached to the main house w/the deck overlooking the ocean. (I think it was the most expensive room), it comes w/breakfast/dinner, so when you break all the costs down, it wasn't that bad. Would stay there again in a heartbeat!

I love Mendocino, we always stay at McCallum House. Outstanding restaurant, fabulous breakfasts!

Thanks - keep those responses coming. WRT the question re price range - there really is no limit to what we'd pay for the perfect set-up - although I think the Heritage (best rooms at 650) is probably as high as it gets in Mendocino. Ventana, on the other hand, goes to around 1400!!
