Mendenhall Glacier Tours

Thinking about taking the Mighty Great Trip shuttle to the Glacier. Do you need to book this prior? We will be on the NCL Pearl in July. Also can this shuttle take you into town?

Unless you are planning to pay your cruise ship for trip out on the glacier or to fly over it you do not need a "Mighty Great Trip Shuttle" to Mendenhall Glacier from your port.

Simply get yourself in front of the library and look for the MGT shuttle...Mendenhall Glacier Transit. It will cost you all of $6 and take you directly to the Visitor Center, with a friendly narrative on the way.

Be careful, there are also shuttles offering you this short ride for $22, as a "tour". You do not need one.

The Visitor Center is interactive and excellent.

When you are ready to return to Juneau, simply go to the parking lot and an MGT will be along soon.

Thanks, I guess I am getting these two MGT things mixed up.

Hey, they do have the same initials !! Just make sure you get the shuttle only pay $6 for.

These are TWO different buses. The tour, has commentary with a drive by city tour, stops at Mendenhall for about 30-45 min. Chapel on the Lake and over to Douglas Island for a photo of your ship. The SHUTTLE bus is $7 this season, and is just transportation. Bus loading and ticket purchase is next to the tram in the parking lot. Booths set up on the sidewalk.
