Memphis, Tennesee

After receiving feedback about Little Rock, I'm thinking I'll see the Clinton Library and move on to Memphis for a couple of days. Any suggestions for Memphis?

I just read your feedback and can see why you might want to spend less time in Little Rock. Unfortunately, I think you've been misled. Here's a recent comment from tripadvisor offering some suggestions about things to do in Little Rock.

We liked: Graceland (and we're not big Elvis fans), Sun Studio, the Civil Rights Museum, Mud Island, Gibson Guitar factory tour, Stax Museum, Rock & Soul, Belz Museum, Elmwood Cemetery.

If you are on a budget, you might consider the Comfort Inn Downtown. My daughter stayed there on a recent visit to Memphis and said the hotel was not fancy, but good. She really liked the location since it was near Beale Street. Also, she was driving and the parking was only around $10 per night.

My two favorite sites in Memphis are the Civil Rights Museum and the zoo. The zoo is lovely, especially the pandas. Seeing the Red Birds play baseball is fun too. Park is right downtown - diagonally across from the Peabody if my memory is working today.

Thanks to all for the great ideas. I did check out the Tripadvisor link and feel much better about Little Rock now. Thanks again.
