Memphis Hotel - Help Me Choose
We will be in Memphis for 2 weekend nights in April. I made a reservation at both the Residence Inn Downtown and the Springhill Suites Downtown. The price is about the same so I was wondering if any of you know whether one is a better choice than the other?

I would go with Residence Inn. They have a rooftop get together for guests on Thursday and free breakfast. Enjoy your visit.
Marriott Residence Inn Downtown @ 110 Monroe Avenue, Memphis, TN 901 - 578 - 3700.

I answered this question earlier today, but it must've been lost in cyberspace. My husband and I have stayed in lots of downtown hotels - including the Peabody and Madison - and our current favorite is the Marriott Residence Inn.
The weather should be great in April, and the rooftop is a wonderful place to spend some down time and look at the river. Very light meals are served there during the week.
The personnel there is wonderful, and their free breakfasts are great, too.
I have loved seeing the duck parade at the Peabody, but even if you don't get there in time for that, the lobby bar has got to be one of the best people-watching places in the country. Have fun!

Thank you all. I was leaning towards Springhill Suites because it got better reviews. Some people mentioned that the RI was an older property and had some maintenance issues but everything else was positive.
Definitely plan to check out the Peabody Hotel, Susan. Thanks.
