Yes...the entire state of California will be busy/sold out/noisy. They willl be turning people away at the state line expecially people who write weekend as W/e.

Could you be a little less specific???????

Sorry, but if one lives outside the USA, one has no idea what it means Memorial WEEKEND

This is for many families the first opportunity to get way for a three day weekend since school is out. So many places that involve camping, BBQ etc will be very busy. As for"everything" etc, What specifically are you looking into doing in CA and where? More information will help others answer your questions in a helpful manner.

Thanks May 20th, 2002 07:28 AM

Thank you!

That's what I wanted to know - just generally what it was about (i.e. that people go away for the weekend) - So I guess that the roads will be busy Friday through to Monday?

We are flying into LAX on Friday and staying in LA until the Tuesday.

Sorry I am vague but we haven't got much planned. I noticed from other postings that there was something called "Memorial Weekend" and wondered how it would affect LA and our ability to see things we wanted (e.g. Getty Center/Santa Monica Beach/ Venice Beach etc)

Cheers

Unknowing Brit
