Memorial day weekend drivable getaway from Jersey City, NJ
Hi, bad weather next week is forcing us to cancel our plans for a beach destination on the memorial day weekend
Is there a drivable (3-4 hours) destination from NJ that would be ideal (with good weather) over this weekend?

There is no way to accurately predict what the weather will be like at the beach 4 hours prior let alone one week ahead. If you insist on being pessimistic, you could check onto Revel in AC or take the train to Philly. Are kids involved? What kind of experience are you looking for?

Thanks for your response Birdie
true its a little bit speculative we are just trying to have a solid plan B
Its just me & my husband so we would prefer a romantic getaway, we have been too frequent to AC & Poconos so looking for something a bit different

Ok, I understand. Have you been to Philly much? For my next romance weekend, I want to stay here:

And if you haven't been there, Revel is a great place for romance. Its very sexy.

You're able to cancel a beach hotel for a holiday weekend so close to the date? I'm suprised as even chain hotels are getting very strict for holidays and other busy weekends.
I agree that weather is tough to know more than a couple days ahead but it really is impossible to know if any location will have "ideal" weather. Why not just pick a place you like, and make sure there are indoor things to do as well?
Cities or mountains? Hiking or biking if it's cool outside, or spa time? Or museums and fine restaurants?
DC, Brandywine Valley PA/DE, Saratoga Springs NY?

Ocean City is an excellent choice! I think the weather is supposed to be pretty good next weekend, but if it's not, you can take a drive to Cape May or AC. And as long as its not pouring, you can walk the boardwalk and rent bikes. Unless the forecast suddenly calls for three days of downpours, I'd keep your reservations in OC.
