Memorial day weekend/disneyland
We will be in the Disneyland area May 27 to June 6. I've seen a few notes that your Memorial day weekend is a bit of a party time. Would it be advisable to avoid Disneyland for these few days and make alternative arrangements. (I hate BIG crowds)

Sat Sun and Holidays are the best times to tour the City of L.A and to see Hollywood/ Beverly Hills as the traffic is much easier to handle. So if those things are in your plans, I'd save Disneyland for a weekday when school is back in session. The park will probably stay open later on the weekend however.

that whole weekend will be insane at disneyland. i agree with tracy--wait to go to disneyland until it's a school day. memorial day weekend is always incredibly crowded at the beaches and major weekends--it's seen as the beginning of summer here, and everyone celebrates.

Its my daughters 11th bithday an Sunday 28th May so I think I'll be expected to brave the crowds at Disney!!(my worst nightmare)

Be sure to stop into Guest Services (Main Street) and tell them you have a birthday girl. They'll give her a birthday sticker badge, and she'll get lots of extra attention from the castmembers. And do go as early as you can.

If you must go to Disneyland over Memorial Day weekend try and book a room at one of the Disney property hotels. Book early and save a few $$$. The Disney hotels have great pools you can leave the park when it gets crowded and go swimming. Take a nap, eat and brave the crowds again. Yes, it is worth the extra $$$ to stay at one of the three Disney Hotels.
