Melrose or Stoneleigh Hotels in Dallas?
Hi. We are going to need lodging in Dallas for the OU/Texas weekend in October. Last time we stayed at The Adolphus and it was very convenient to the Cotton Bowl, the Marketplace, etc. This year we are considering these 2 hotels. We will probably be getting some sort of a suite as we are travelling with our adult son. I would appreciate your feedback - positive AND negative - to both of these hotels. Location is a factor but - even more important is the quality of the accommodations, restaurants, etc.
Thank you!
Thank you!

I have not stayed at the Stoneleigh but know the location. It will be quieter as it is in the heart of the art gallery district. The Melrose is wonderful, excellent service and the bar is quite the Power Bar.However, the Melrose is on the corner of Oaklawn and Cedar Springs, and traffic and party goers will choke that part of town on Friday/Saturday nights.Well, my Dallas friends tell me it jams every night.Hope this helps.

The Hotel Palomar will be opened by October. It is at Mockingbird and 75, very convenient to everything.
It should be spectacular!
