Meeting place in Union Station, Washington D.C.??
Hi all -
We're meeting another couple at Union Station on Friday (we're arriving by train).
But I'm not at all familiar with the station.
Can anyone suggest a place that we could meet each other that's in the station and easy to find?
Thanks a million!! -Jill

Are you both arriving by Amtrack? If so, there's a Ben & Jerry's near where the trains let out, so you could meet there. Are you going to be arriving at about the same time? If not, you could meet downstairs in the foot court area, maybe at a table close to the movie theater.

The Food Court at Union Station is huge and crowded. I prefer the recommendation to meet at a specific place on the upper level, where the trains come in. There's a bookstore (Dalton's?). Or you could tell your friends your train info and they can be waiting at your gate when you arrive; it's not like airline security.

I can't think of where the bookstore is, for some reason. The other place that might work is the Tourmobile desk, which is in the big, beautiful lobby area. You walk toward the front of Union Station, as though you were going to get a cab, and you will walk into the big beautiful open room - they've got a restaurant in the middle, and the America restaurant over to the right. The tourmobile info desk is there. Actually, there's a Godiva shop there as well - that would be my choice of meeting places!
