MauiSheraton,Hyatt,orMarriott?
I hope this will be my last question as to where to stay in Maui! If you could stay in any of these 3 hotels (suites) which would you choose and why? We will be traveling with our children ages 7,8, and 10. The prices are very similar. Should we just flip a coin? I'll let everyone know how it goes. Thanks again!!

My vote is for the Hyatt. I've stayed at the Sheraton (June 2000) and the Hyatt (1998) and they're both nice. However, I think particularly since you have children, that they'd really enjoy that fabulous pool at the Hyatt. They have a waterslide and all the stuff that kids love. However, if you're a beach person, then go witht he sheraton, as they're on the nicest part of the beach. The beach is very UNremarkable in front of the Hyatt. However, the grounds more than make up for it, I think. AS for the Marriott, I've never stayed there. However, it's sort of in the middle of Kaanapali Beach and I think they're still undergoing renovations. You might want to post a separate question to that effect, but of the three, I think they're a little less expensive. Also, if you stay at the Hyatt a lot of times they have a special that includes "free" buffet breakfast each morning of your stay. I'm not sure if that's for all members of your party or just for 2 paying adults or what, but they have the best buffet breakfast at Swan Court that I've ever had. What time of the year are you going? I notice from some travel brochures that Hyatt has a 7th night free, and Sheraton is having 6th night free. Sheraton also has a nice large pool that we enjoyed, but I really enjoyed the Hyatt's!

I would also vote for the Hyatt. Just returned from Maui and walked through all 3 hotels and liked the Hyatt the best. Very tropical and the pool is quite beautiful-kids would love it. The breakfast buffet at the black swan is outstanding! <BR>

Agree with the two above posters. Hyatt also runs programs for kids (lei making...star gazing).

I also agree that the Hyatt is the best of your three hotel choices. It's pool, tropical feel, nice rooms and intangibles make it the best choice on Kaanapali Beach. By the way, although the beach directly in front of the Hyatt is only average for swimming (and perfectly fine for sunning), you can simply walk along the beachfront until you find an area more to your liking...all beaches are public and Kaanapali beach is a 3 mile long stretch that you have full access to from your hotel.

Hyatt!

It's pretty clear from the above comments that the Hyatt is the place to go. The only drawback is that the beach in front of the Hyatt is extremely lousy by Hawaiian standards. However, like Frank says, you can just walk in the direction of the Marriott and Westin and easily find a choice spot to go swimming.
