Maui where to stay help
I will be visiting Maui in June this year. I will have a car and have organized the rental.
I have no idea where to stay. I have read about the different areas, and I am honestly Ok with them all. My husband and I are mid 50's and the our only requirement is somewhere quieter. Not interested in evening parties and entertaining. We love grabbing something to eat and then going back to our accommodation to have some wine before going to bed. I am going "googly eyed" with looking at condo's and hotels. I did choose Maui Kai but it is undergoing a renovation from april to september. I am not sure I want to be around building work. So I have selected a number of VRBO listings. Can I please have some thoughts on them. Maybe fresh eyes will see something I am not. they all look pretty good. https://www.vrbo.com/433281 https://www.vrbo.com/912629 https://www.vrbo.com/36748 https://www.vrbo.com/614986 Is there something specific that I need to be looking at with these rentals. I have never used VRBO. We only have airbnb in australia. thanks in advance millie. |
There are many vrbo listings in Australia!
Lahaina, depending on location, can be a busy and noisy choice. My only comment is a personal dislike of Sugar Beach. It is windy and there is drainage into the ocean there. Waimea might be a good choice for you; close to many amenities and fabulous swimming beaches. |
My preferred area on Maui is North of Kaanapali, Honokowai, Kahana, to Napili. Some of the condos you noted above are in that area. :) I have used VRBO there many many times.

Years ago, we stayed in a condo at Napili Point. Next door, Napili Shores is nice, too. Good beach, and Hanakeana Cove has awesome snorkeling.

Correction: Honokeana Bay. (Honokeana Cove is the name of a small condo resort, with which we don't have experience, except for seeing it as we snorkeled in the Bay.)

We stayed in a condo at Honokawai but drove each am to swim at Kapalua, I would stay there or in Napili.

I loved staying at Lahaina Shores, but in part because people in our group liked being able to walk into town and do stuff without always getting organized and into the rental car.
Staying in or near Lahaina would definitely accommodate this request: "We love grabbing something to eat and then going back to our accommodation to have some wine before going to bed." |
