Maui weather forecast-- please help me interpret this:

Does that forecast really look as bad as I think it does? I recognize that in the tropics, thunderstorms are common and sometimes really brief. Please tell me that's the case! Is this a typical forecast for Maui? Jeez! When we honeymooned in French Polynesia, it rained nearly every day, too! Oh well! ((R)) |
If if makes you feel any better, the forecast for the Big Island looks even worse for us(16-23 Nov.)! Oh well, is right....the rain there will be warmer than the rain at home...and if you swim enough you'll be wet anyway (hee hee!).

That forecast describes just about every day here in Hawai`i -- passing showers (which are a good thing...gives us the lush green tropical foliage, and cools us down). Notice that the daytime temps will be hovering near 80...wonderful weather! 8-)

If it makes you feel any better, we just returned a couple of weeks ago from the Big Island. Weather.com's forecast showed rain, rain, and more rain for the time we were there. I was told by someone to check hawaiiweathertoday.com, and it was a better forecast, but still showed some chances of rain. We had NO RAIN except for while we were at the volcano -- just beautiful, blue skies. I'm not saying that you won't have ANY rain, but just to realize that tropical forecasts are notoriously incorrect.
Try not to worry about the rain. If it's raining where you are staying, go find a place for the day where it's not raining. Have a great time! |
Thanks everyone! That's all basically the words I needed to hear!
