Maui- Walk to Black rock from Hyatt?
We're staying at the Hyatt on Kaanapali beach. I was wondering if it's walking distance to the Sheraton. I want to snorkel at Black rock.

The walk is quite pleasant along the paved walkway. We've taken our kids when they were 3 & 7 and again 8 & 12 and they had no problem with the walk. Lots to see, especially how the other hotels are laid out. If you find that is too long (unlikely) there is free beach parking at the Sheraton right next to a paved path that runs along the south side of the Sheraton.

Stay for the torch lighting at sunset. It's a very nice way to end the evening.

I didn't realize how close I'm going to be (at the Hyatt) to Whalers Village. That must be a short walk from the Hyatt too, right?

cool!

Yes, it's a pleasant walk along the beachwalk there. The Hyatt is at the south end and the Sheraton is at the north end which ends at black rock. In between are Hotels like the Marriott (part timeshare) and the Westin. The Marriott is at the walk level and you can see pretty much their grounds right in front of you. You can hear the luau which is also right along the walk. Great reataurnt is Va Bene. The Westin is elevated for the most part and you need to walk up a few stairs to see the pools and grounds. The Westin has lots of sculpture along the walk. They also have some timeshare salesmen in front trying to get you to take a look at their timeshare north of Black rock.

Whaler's Village is full of shops and restaurants. It's pretty much in the middle but may be closer to the Sheraton than the Hyatt though it's still not a big deal. Fun to spend some time at the Hula Grill in the sand section outside rather than indoors. Also there is a Tiffany right nearby if you have to wait for seating ; )
