Maui vs Kuaii
I'm going to Hawaii for 13 days and I'm trying to decide how long to spend on each island, any ideas?

Gotta say this is the most interesting spelling of Kauai I've ever seen. :-)

Both are great islands. While I think 13 days is a tad long I'd probably split it evenly, with maybe 7 on Maui and 6 on Kauai. Enjoy! (btw, I'm jealous!!)

Bill - I went to Maui and Kaua'i in September for my honeymoon. We split our stay 6 nights on Kaua'i, and 7 nights on Maui (in that order). To be honest, even though Maui was fun and beautiful, we thought Kaua'i was so much more beautiful so it was a bit of a bummer to go from Kaua'i to Maui.

My advice would be to go to Maui (or another Hawaiian island first for 5-6 nights, then go to Kaua'i for the majority of your trip. There have been so many helpful posts (including hosted forums) during the past year concerning where to stay, what to do, where to eat. In my opinion, Kaua'i offered so much to do....hiking, kayaking, scuba, snorkeling, long scenic drives, lazy days on secluded beaches, boat cruises. Next time we're going back only to Kaua'i for 10 days!

Good luck planning your trip.

The best thing you should do before you leave is place as much money as possible on Comedy Central. The island itself wouldn't be as fun without Mr. & Mrs. Coe! You should invite them to go with you! :-) You can run, but you can't hide!!!!

KAUAI!
I like the nightlife much better on Kauai...ZZZZzzzzzZZZZzzzzz....ahhhhhhh.

A spilt as suggested before isn't too hard to do. If you want to go back home all relaxed, do the last few days on Kauai.
