Maui Sunset Cruise?
Hi,
I am getting married in Maui in June 2004 and was thinking about taking all my guests on a sunset cruise on night as a thank you for coming present. We have a very small group...16 or so. I was wondering if anyone can recommend anything? I am not looking for a dinner cruise or a "20 something" type of party barge. We will have several children with us. I would like something clean, serves cocktails and that doesnt jam pack their boats. Thank you for your help! |
I just got married in Maui. We opted to take the group to the Old Lahaina luau and had a wonderful time! We took a smaller group on a sunset cruise the next night but had a much better time at the luau!

My family of 4 (2 older boys) went on a sunset cruise in 2002 and really enjoyed ourselves. Most boats or cats take off around 5pm from Maalaea Harbor and stay out about 2 hours. They served some tasty PuPu's, mai tais, wine, champagne and soft drinks. As I recall, there were mostly couples on board our catamaran (about 20 people total) and there was plenty of room. You may want to go online to check out the different types of boats available and prices (cheaper to book online) and to also see what the max capacity is. I was glad that we all took sweatshirts as it got a bit chilly after the sun went down. It was nice because it gets you out on the water, but is shorter than a snorkel trip (which is fun as well if you haven't done that). The sunset was awesome. My kids enjoyed it as well - we would definitely do it again. Have fun!

Check out Trilogy tours in Lahaina. Not sure if they do sunset cruises, but was very impressed with a day trip to Lanai

We went on one in November with Pacific Whale Foundation out of Lahaina, 50ft cat. They did a good job, see:

Anyone have experience with the sunset cruises that leave from Kaanapali? Like Teralani?
