Maui Sunseeker Kihei
 

Anyone stayed there recently? Rave reviews over at Tripadvisor, but more recent ones are mixed, so coming here for the recent and maybe local scoop. Thanks.

Kehei would not be my first choice.
I would rather stay in Napili or Kapalua myself.

Appears to be a gay-oriented small hotel in a mediocre area. If the gay-oriented thing is paramount, this might be fine.

Wailea, Napili, or Kapalua are much nicer areas if you are looking for nice accomodations.

Agree with egret on Kihei..

Napili/Kapalua is a really nice part of Maui..
Even south of Kihei in Makena or Wailea is beautiful..

I've never stayed at the Maui Sunseeker in Kihei, but have to disagree with the opinion on Kihei. I love the area. Much more of a local flavor and so much to do within walking distance of most condos. I love the Wailea area as well, but it is not as affordable as Kihei and is less than a 5 minute drive away.
