Maui Spa Question...

Will be staying at the Sheraton in Maui towards the end of May and would like to book a special spa session for our anniversary. Maui has many different spa's to choose from but I would like to hear your stories about which you think were the best.

From what I have read so far, the GW and Hyatt spa's seem to be the two best. Any information you could pass along would be appreciated.

Conde Nast just did a "Top Spas" special, and many were in Hawaii. Here's the link:

I think you'd be really pleased with the Hyatt spa. It's also in Ka'anapali (where the Sheraton is) so if you are feeling ambitious you can even walk to the spa from your hotel. (Beautiful walk down the beach path!)

We booked a couple's package for our anniversary which was very nice. It included a massage for both of us (in the same room), then I got a facial and he got a scalp massage.

The spa itself is beautiful, full of light--and has a lovely, relaxing view of the ocean in the "wait" room. It feels very Hawaiian.

I have also been to the GW spa and it was more ornate, also quite nice, but I preferred the beachy, modern vibe of the Hyatt spa better. Both spas had very pleasant staff and good technicians. Hope that helps! I can go into more detail on both if you have specific questions.

BTW, just did a quick check of the Conde Nast top spas--wow, Hawaii really did have a lot on that list!

I have been to the Hyatt Kauai spa and liked it, but actually preferred the Maui Hyatt's spa. I WILL agree that the Mauna Lani and Orchid on the BI both have utterly heavenly spas! :)

We stayed at the Hyatt last June and went to the spa. I would recommend them, it was very nice. We got the Lomilomi massages and they were wonderful!!!

Thanks for the great information. The link was useful and many from hawaii were represented, just wished it had more info than just the ratings.

Anyways, I think the Hyatt might be our best bet because it is a lot closer to our hotel and we could walk back to the Sheraton when we are done so we dont get stressed by driving all the way back from Wialea if we went to the GW spa.

Did any of you do the couples packages at the Hyatt? It looks like they go from the mid 400's on up. The Ultimate Pleasure package sounds good.

Should I do one of those packages or just pick my own treatments?
