MAUI: Resources

Good morning one and all!

Hi! I am a first time visitor traveling to Hawaii (specifically Maui) at the end of June this year for a week and am asking anyone, who has recommendations for books, mags or other resources that could help a first time visitor, to speak-up! :-) I currently have the Fodor's Maui Guide and am looking for more resources.

Any help in this area would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks and everyone safe and happy traveling!

Frank

Frank you must get Maui Revealed. You can check out www.wizardpub.com first to get a feel for what a great source this is.
Lenore Apr 8th, 2002 12:40 PM

I agree with Suzie. Maui Revealed is a must. The writers live in Hawaii and seem to have traveled every inch of the islands. You won't be disappointed!

Thank you both for your quick responses. I will read the reviews and the overview for this publication. I just purchased the highly-recommended Driving and Discovering Maui I think it is from Amazon earlier today before posting here.

Thank you both so much and I must tell you, I'm very excited about the venture!

Kudos to Lenore and Suzi

Frank

Another vote for Maui Revealed, order it from your bookstore if you have to.

I purchased Maui Revealed from Amazon.com. It took a few days to get it however. I also noticed that the Barnes and Noble in my area had the book for just a few $$ more than Amazon. Add in the shipping and it was basically the same price. It appears to be a great book. My trip isn't until Sept.

You might want to pick up a copy of Hawaii magazine for some timely info. You'll find it at Barnes and Noble or Borders and possibly even your public library.

I wanted to thank each and every one of you for all the tips and suggestions. I, indeed, purchased Maui Revealed and Driving and Discovering Maui and each book compliments the other very well. D&D Maui has such wonderful photographs I am in awe and I am still months out of my trip. :-) Maui Revealed seems to be the consummate collection of reviews and the folks who wrote MR certainly don't pull any punches as they give the Good, Bad, and even the Ugly that one might find on the island.

So to make a long story even longer thanks to:

Suzi, Lenore, Marie, Sherrie, Hal and Betty.

Thanks to one and all..I cannot wait to get there! :-)

your friend,
Frank
