Maui resorts
Wondering if I can get some feedback on possible choices in Maui:
Fairmont Kei Lani Four Seasons Maui Grand Wailea Thanks. |
4S for service
Kei Lani for suites another third choice It's been awhile but I've stayed at all 3 |
Grand Wailea has a rep as a kid magnet due to their pools so I'd avoid that one unless going when most kids are back in school.
|
GW was also slated to start a major reno adding new wings where the chapel is/was and the Humuhumu restaurant. Not sure when or if it has started but the pools were a zoo before adding a few hundred more rooms. And of course the neighboring properties that have full hotel benefits.
|
Before my parents bought our timeshare in Kaanapali we stayed at The Whaler in Kaanapali next to black rock. Black Rock has some of the best snorkeling oon the island and a beautiful beach. Everynight a local dives off the cliff into the ocean. The pool is so-so but the view from the balcony is breath taking.

If you're interested in 4S-level accommodations, neither the Sheraton nor the Whaler is nearly in the same category.

I have not stayed at the Grand Wailea so I cannot comment on that hotel but have stayed at both the Four Seasons and Fairmont Kei Lani. I would recommend the Fairmont, very nice, large suites.
I just was not impressed with the Four Seasons. |
