Maui Resort Questions
I am planning on traveling to Hawaii next summer although am wondering which is the best place to stay. I was thinking of the Grand Wailea Resort although the Kea Lani looks nice as well. Which one would you choose? In addition, would you say that the Hyatt Maui is nicer than those two resorts? Or how about even the new Marriott resort on Maui, which I beleive is supposed to have spectacular pools when they're finished. Although would the Marriott be better over all those properties when it's finished?

Thank you in advance for all your help!

We stayed at the Hyatt on Kaanapali Beach during our trip to Maui. It was truly beautiful, Luxurious grounds, fabulous service and amenities, and walking distance to Whalers Village mall for dining & shopping. I highly recommend it!! Don't miss dining with the swans....

Of those that you've noted, the Grand Wailea is considered the best overall hotel/resort. I say this based upon personal experience, years of reading this site and polls in the travel magazines. The Four Seasons is the other top-ender that you've left off your list.
Some prefer the Hyatt because it's closer to Lahaina and the area around Kaanapali is more active.

The Wailea area is the most expensive and away from it all place on Maui, with
that said the Grand and the Kea Lani are beautiful luxury resorts with prices to match. In Kaanapali you will find luxury resorts with better prices and much more deverse choices in activities and dining as well. The Hyatt
Regency is wonderful and yes when the reconstruction is done at the Marriott
it will be something special, by far the best resort in the Kaanapali area.

No matter where you stay you will enjoy
Maui.

HJS
We stayed at the Kea Lani 2 years ago and loved it. We chose it because it's an all suites resort and we enjoyed having the extra space. Suites are gorgeous as are grounds.

Wailea is definitely quieter than the west Maui area so it depends on how much activity you like. We prefer quieter places which is why we chose Wailea. If staying in west Maui, I think we would go for Kapalua but level of activity is a personal choice. Enjoy.
