Maui Prescription Snorkeling?
I hear tell of a location or two that rents snorkel masks in basic prescription lenses. Not much point in snorkeling for those who wear glasses if they can't focus... I'll be along the north and west shores - any suggestions?

Keep in mind that it also depends on what type of vision issue you have as the refraction in the water corrects a goodly amount of nearsightedness.
Before I got my Lasik, I could see much better snorkeling/diving than I could on land.
Depending on what type of vision issues you have, you may not need any type of correction under water.

You can get a prescription for a set of disposable contact lenses (you wear a set for a month.) I don't normally wear contact lenses but I like them for snorkeling. In the water there is so much moisture that the lenses are much more comfortable than they are on the dry land. However, if you get splashed in the face, and you rub your eyes, you could lose a lense...I had a lense fall out when I was showering after a swim and forgot I had the lenses in...but I caught it, amazingly, as it was still stuck on my face.
with a set of disposable lenses you will still have spares in case you lose one. (I snorkeled other times without losing a lense.)

I'm very nearsighted and love to snorkel. I don't use prescription masks, but instead put in contacts when we go snorkeling. I like to be able to pull off my mask and still be able to see, rather than relying on a mask as my source of vision, which I just want to get off my face once I'm on the sand. I've never had any trouble with contacts in the water. Just a thought.
But yes, they're available EVERYWHERE.
Also, I like the idea of 'prescription snorkeling'. "Doctor, what can be done for me?" "Well, what I'm going to do is prescribe you three days of snorkeling; you must get to Hawaii immediately." "Gee, thanks, Doc!"
