Maui on $250-300 nt
Looking for a honey Aug 31st for 2wks, looking to spend $250-300 night, have Maui Revealed book, but its so overwhelming, any suggestions? So far we have The Maui Prince as an option?

What does "looking for a honey" mean?Maui Prince is a nice choice if a quiet location and a good swimming/snorkeling beach are important. It is not a new place with a fabulous pool and a luxury feel to it though, so if that is important, you migh want to look elsewhere. I would do a search on this forum and tripadvisor for the hotels that sound interesting to you to get a feel for which ones make a short list. Check out luxurylink.com for a Kapalua Bay Hotel auction and other auctions that could represent a good value.

We stayed in the Maui Prince for our honeymoon. It was definitely a very nice place. It is kind of on the "outdated side". Out room was a sea view with an amazing view or Haleakala from the side as well. The rooms are ok. They have a restaurant on the ground floor - where we had dinner once. Food was pretty good. We had their buffet breakfast in the mornings - sit outside - it is really really beautiful. You sit next to their koi ponds overlooking their gardens and the ocean in the distance. The beach is nice - it is not very busy and people don't lay out. You get a nice view of Molinkini island.
The only negative in our opinion was that it is in Wailea which is really out of the way from everything. People generally stay in Lahaina or something a bit more north. Being in the middle of no where meant having a long distance to drive at night to get back to the hotel. But at the same time, it was very relaxing (driving under the stars in our rented convertible) and we didn't mind it much. I would definitely recommend it. |
I don't know if you're comfortable doing this, but we used Priceline and got a rate of $130/night at the Wailea Marriott (formerly an Outrigger). We had a great stay and even got upgraded to a suite (I'm a Marriott Rewards preferred member).
From Bidding for Travel, it looks like others have gotten the Hyatt in Kanapaali for the first part of your stay for $190 a night. Good luck |
I got the Sheraton Maui Hotel for $140 a night on Priceline.
